حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَخِي الْحَكَمُ بْنُ الْمُطَّلِبِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ قُهَيْدِ بْنِ مُطَرِّفٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سَأَلَهُ سَائِلٌ: إِنْ عَدَا عَلَيَّ عَادٍ ؟ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَنْهَاهُ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ، قَالَ: فَإِنْ أَبَى ؟ فَأَمَرَهُ بِقِتَالِهِ، قَالَ: فَكَيْفَ بِنَا ؟ قَالَ: إِنْ قَتَلَكَ فَأَنْتَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنْ قَتَلْتَهُ فَهُوَ فِي النَّارِ

✧ A questioner asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: "What if an aggressor attacks me?" He commanded him to forbid him three times. He said: "And if he refuses?" He commanded him to fight him. He said: "Then what about us?" He said: "If he kills you, you will be in Paradise, and if you kill him, he will be in the Fire."
