✧ He narrated that the Prophet ﷺ came to them in the Quba Mosque and said, "Indeed, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, has praised you in regard to cleanliness in the story of your mosque. So what is this cleanliness that you purify yourselves with?" They said, "By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, we do not know anything except that we used to have Jewish neighbors who would wash their rear ends after using the toilet, so we washed ourselves as they did."

machine translationIn it is Shuraḥbīl b. Saʿd, whom Mālik, Ibn Maʿīn and Abū Zurʿah declared weak (ḍaʿīf), while Ibn Ḥibbān declared him trustworthy (thiqah).
machine translationAs for its authenticity, I hesitate over it, because in its chain is Shuraḥbīl b. Saʿd, the narrator from ʿUwaym. Ibn Abī Dhiʾb said: he was accused (of lying) (muttaham). Mālik said: he is not trustworthy (laysa bi-thiqah). Ibn Maʿīn, al-Nasāʾī and al-Dāraquṭnī said: weak (ḍaʿīf). As for Ibn Ḥibbān, he mentioned him in al-Thiqāt (his book of trustworthy narrators).
in مسند أحمد, p. 15652
