حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ يَبْلُغُ بِهِ

أَعْظَمُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا مَنْ سَأَلَ عَنْ أَمْرٍ لَمْ يُحَرَّمْ، فَحُرِّمَ عَلَى النَّاسِ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ

Translation

✧ The gravest offense among the Muslims, with respect to other Muslims, is that of a person who asks about a matter that was not forbidden, and it becomes forbidden for the people because of his asking.
