حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ وَعَتَّابٌ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الْمَدِينِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ
اسْتُشْهِدَ أَبِي بِأُحُدٍ فَأَرْسَلْنَنِي أَخَوَاتِي إِلَيْهِ بِنَاضِحٍ لَهُنَّ فَقُلْنَ: اذْهَبْ فَاحْتَمِلْ أَبَاكَ عَلَى هَذَا الْجَمَلِ فَادْفِنْهُ فِي مَقْبَرَةِ بَنِي سَلِمَةَ قَالَ: فَجِئْتُهُ وَأَعْوَانٌ لِي فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ بِأُحُدٍ فَدَعَانِي، فَقَالَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا يُدْفَنُ إِلَّا مَعَ إِخْوَتِهِ فَدُفِنَ مَعَ أَصْحَابِهِ بِأُحُدٍ.

✧ My father was martyred at Uhud, and my sisters sent me to him with a camel of theirs. They said: 'Go and carry your father on this camel and bury him in the cemetery of Banu Salimah.' He said: I came to him with helpers, and that reached the Prophet of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting at Uhud. He called me and said: 'By the One in whose hand is my soul, he will not be buried except with his brothers.' So he was buried with his companions at Uhud.
