✧ I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my father left a debt owed to Jews.' He said: 'I will come to you on Saturday, if Allah wills.' That was at the time of dates, with the fresh ripening of palm trees. When Saturday morning came, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me. When he entered upon me in my property, he approached the spring and performed ablution from it. Then he stood at the mosque and prayed two rak'ahs. Then I brought him near to a tent of mine, and I spread for him a coarse woolen cloth and placed a small cushion made of camel saddle stuffed with palm fiber, and he reclined on it. I did not wait long until Abu Bakr appeared, and it was as if he looked at what the Prophet of Allah ﷺ had done, so he performed ablution and prayed two rak'ahs. I did not wait long until Umar came, and he performed ablution and prayed two rak'ahs, as if he looked at his two companions. Then they entered, and Abu Bakr sat at his head and Umar at his feet.
