✧ We set out with the Messenger of God ﷺ declaring the talbiyah for Hajj alone. 'A'ishah set out declaring the talbiyah for 'Umrah, until when she was at Sarif she menstruated. When we arrived, we circumambulated the Ka'bah and (went between) al-Safa and al-Marwah, and the Messenger of God ﷺ commanded that whoever had not brought a sacrificial animal should exit ihram. He said: We asked, "Exit into what?" He said: "Complete exiting." So we had intercourse with our wives, perfumed ourselves with scent, and there were only four nights between us and 'Arafah. Then we declared the talbiyah on the Day of Tarwiyah. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ entered upon 'A'ishah and found her weeping. He said: "What is the matter with you?" She said: "My situation is that I have menstruated, while the people have exited ihram, but I have not exited and have not circumambulated the House, and the people are now going to Hajj." He said: "This is a matter God [Mighty and Majestic] has decreed for the daughters of Adam. Bathe, then declare the talbiyah for Hajj." She did so and stood at all the stations, until when she became pure she circumambulated the Ka'bah and (went between) al-Safa and al-Marwah. Then he said: "You have exited from your Hajj and your 'Umrah together." She said: "O Messenger of God, I feel within myself that I did not circumambulate the House until I performed Hajj." He said: "Take her, O 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakr, and let her perform 'Umrah from al-Tan'im." That was on the night of al-Hasbah.
