حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ

سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا، عَنِ الطَّوَافِ بِالْكَعْبَةِ فَقَالَ: كُنَّا نَطُوفُ فَنَمْسَحُ الرُّكْنَ الْفَاتِحَةَ وَالْخَاتِمَةَ وَلَمْ نَكُنْ نَطُوفُ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ وَلَا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ، وَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: تَطْلُعُ الشَّمْسُ فِي قَرْنَيِ الشَّيْطَانِ

Translation

✧ I asked Jabir about circumambulating the Kaaba, and he said: We used to circumambulate and wipe the corner at the beginning and the end, and we did not circumambulate after the dawn prayer until the sun rose, nor after the afternoon prayer until it set. And he said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say, 'The sun rises between the two horns of Satan.'
