✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ fought Muharib Khashafah at Nakhl. They saw negligence among the Muslims, so a man from among them called Ghawrath b. al-Harith came and stood over the head of the Messenger of God ﷺ with a sword and said, 'Who will protect you from me?' He said, 'God [Mighty and Majestic].' The sword fell from his hand, and the Messenger of God ﷺ took it and said, 'Who will protect you from me?' He said, 'Be the best taker.' He said, 'Will you testify that there is no god but God?' He said, 'No, but I pledge to you that I will not fight you and will not be with a people who fight you.' So he let him go. He went to his companions and said, 'I have come to you from the best of people.' When it was noon or afternoon, he led them in the prayer of fear. The people were two groups: one group facing their enemy, and one group praying with the Messenger of God ﷺ. He prayed with the group that was with him two rak'ahs, then they departed and took the place of those who were facing the enemy, and those came, and the Messenger of God ﷺ prayed with them two rak'ahs. Thus the people had two rak'ahs each, and the Messenger of God ﷺ had four rak'ahs.
