✧ We set out with the Messenger of God ﷺ until we reached Dhat al-Riqa'. He said: When we came upon a shady tree, we would leave it for the Messenger of God ﷺ. A man from the polytheists came while the sword of the Messenger of God ﷺ was hanging on a tree. He took the sword of the Prophet of God ﷺ and unsheathed it, then said to the Messenger of God ﷺ, 'Do you fear me?' He said, 'No.' He said, 'Then who will protect you from me?' He said, 'God [Mighty and Majestic] will protect me from you.' The Companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ threatened him, so he sheathed the sword and hung it up. Then the call to prayer was given, and he prayed with one group two rak'ahs, then they moved back, and he prayed with the other group two rak'ahs. Thus the Messenger of God ﷺ had four rak'ahs, and the people had two.
