حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ
سَيَخْرُجُ أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ لَا يَعْمُرُوهَا أَوْ لَا تُعْمَرُ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ تُعْمَرُ وَتَمْتَلِئُ وَتُبْنَى ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنْهَا فَلَا يَعُودُونَ إِلَيْهَا أَبَدًا.

✧ The people of Makkah will leave it, then they will not inhabit it—or it will not be inhabited—except a little. Then it will be inhabited and filled and built up, then they will leave it and never return to it ever.
