حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلالٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْجُعَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهَا
أَنَّ عَلِيًّا خَرَجَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حَتَّى جَاءَ ثَنِيَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ، وَعَلِيٌّ يَبْكِي، يَقُولُ: تُخَلِّفُنِي مَعَ الْخَوَالِفِ، فَقَالَ: أَوَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا النُّبُوَّةَ

✧ Ali went out with the Prophet ﷺ until he came to Thaniyyat al-Wada'. Ali was weeping and saying, "Are you leaving me behind with those who remain behind?" So he said, "Are you not pleased to be to me in the position of Harun to Musa, except for prophethood?"
