حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ [ ﷺ ] إِذَا خَطَبَ يَسْتَنِدُ إِلَى جِذْعِ نَخْلَةٍ مِنْ سَوَارِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَلَمَّا صُنِعَ لَهُ الْمِنْبَرُ، فَاسْتَوَى عَلَيْهِ، اضْطَرَبَتِ السَّارِيَةُ كَحَنِينِ النَّاقَةِ، حَتَّى سَمِعَهَا أَهْلُ الْمَسْجِدِ، فَنَزَلَ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَالْتَزَمَهَا، فَسَكَنَتْ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ, when he delivered a sermon, used to lean against a palm trunk among the pillars of the mosque. When the pulpit was made for him and he sat on it, the pillar cried out like the moaning of a she-camel, until the people of the mosque heard it. The Messenger of God ﷺ descended to it and embraced it, and it became still.
