حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ
فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ: أَنَا أَوْلَى بِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ، فَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ دَيْنًا، فَإِلَيَّ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَهُوَ لِوَرَثَتِهِ.

✧ On the authority of Al-Zuhri in his saying, "The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves" [Al-Ahzab 6], on the authority of Abu Salamah, on the authority of Jabir, on the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who used to say, "I am closer to every believer than his own self. So whoever dies leaving behind a debt, it is upon me, and whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his heirs."
