حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَفِيَّةَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ ثَابِتٌ: مَا أَصْدَقَهَا؟ قَالَ: أَصْدَقَهَا نَفْسَهَا أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Safiyyah. Thabit said to him: 'What did he give her as her bridal gift (mahr)?' He said: 'He gave her herself as her bridal gift: he manumitted her and then married her.'
