✧ That the people said: 'O Messenger of God, wealth has been destroyed, and we have been afflicted with drought. O Messenger of God, wealth has been destroyed, so pray for rain for us.' He stood on Friday while he was on the pulpit and prayed for rain. Ḥammād described, and he spread his hands level with his chest, with the palms of his hands facing the ground. There was not a cloud in the sky, and he did not leave until even a strong young man was anxious to return to his family. It rained on us until the following Friday. They said: 'O Messenger of God, buildings have collapsed and travelers have been cut off. Pray to God to remove it from us.' The Messenger of God ﷺ laughed and said: 'O God, around us and not upon us.' And it cleared away until Madinah was as if in a crown.
