حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ وَثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَأَى رَجُلًا يُهَادَى بَيْنَ ابْنَيْنِ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: مَا هَذَا ؟ فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، نَذَرَ أَنْ يَحُجَّ مَاشِيًا، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنْ تَعْذِيبِهِ نَفْسَهُ فَلْيَرْكَبْ

Translation

✧ That the Messenger of God ﷺ saw a man being supported between two of his sons, and said: 'What is this?' They said: 'O Messenger of God, he vowed to walk to Hajj.' He said: 'God is surely too self-sufficient to have him torment himself. Let him ride.'
