حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ
أَرَادَ بَنُو سَلِمَةَ أَنْ يَتَحَوَّلُوا عَنْ مَنَازِلِهِمْ إِلَى قُرْبِ الْمَسْجِدِ؛ فَكَرِهَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ تَعْرَى الْمَدِينَةُ، فَقَالَ: يَا بَنِي سَلِمَةَ، أَلَا تَحْتَسِبُونَ آثَارَكُمْ. ؟

✧ The Banū Salimah wanted to move from their dwellings to be near the mosque, but the Prophet of God ﷺ disliked that Madinah should be left exposed. He said: 'O Banū Salimah, do you not count your footsteps?'
