حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، وَهُوَ يَسْلُتُ الدَّمَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: كَيْفَ يُفْلِحُ قَوْمٌ شَجُّوا نَبِيَّهُمْ، وَكَسَرُوا رَبَاعِيَتَهُ، وَهُوَ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى اللهِ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said on the day of Uhud, while wiping the blood from his face: 'How can a people succeed who wounded their Prophet and broke his front tooth, while he was calling them to God?' Then God, Mighty and Majestic, sent down: 'You have nothing to do with the matter, whether He turns to them or punishes them, for they are wrongdoers.'
