حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: يَا سَيِّدَنَا وَابْنَ سَيِّدِنَا، وَيَا خَيْرَنَا وَابْنَ خَيْرِنَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قُولُوا بِقَوْلِكُمْ وَلَا يَسْتَهْوِيَنَّكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ، أَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ، وَاللهِ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ تَرْفَعُونِي فَوْقَ مَا رَفَعَنِي اللهُ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ]

✧ A man said to the Prophet ﷺ: O our master and son of our master, O our best and son of our best. The Prophet ﷺ said: O people, say what you normally say, and let not Satan beguile you. I am Muhammad b. 'Abd Allah, the Messenger of Allah. By Allah, I do not love that you raise me above what Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has raised me.
