✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood at Arafah and said: 'This is the stopping place, and all of Arafah is a stopping place.' Then he mounted Usamah behind him and urged his she-camel swiftly while the people were striking their camels right and left, but he did not turn to them, saying: 'Calmness, O people!' He departed when the sun had set and came to Muzdalifah, where he prayed the two prayers — meaning Maghrib and Isha — then spent the night there. When morning came, he stood at Quzah and said: 'This is Quzah, and it is a stopping place, and all of Muzdalifah is a stopping place.' He said: Then he moved on, and when he reached Muhassir, he struck the she-camel and she trotted until he crossed the valley, then he held her back. He mounted al-Fadl behind him, then moved on until he came to the Jamrah and threw pebbles at it. Then he came to the place of sacrifice and said: 'This is the place of sacrifice, and all of Mina is a place of sacrifice.' Then a young woman from Khath'am came to him and said: 'My father is an old man who has become senile, and the obligation of Allah in Hajj has overtaken him. May I perform Hajj on his behalf?' He said: 'Yes, so perform it on behalf of your father.' He said: He turned al-Fadl's neck, and al-Abbas said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah, why did you turn the neck of your cousin?' He said: 'I saw a young man and a young woman, and I feared Satan for them.' He said: Then a man came to him and said: 'I performed the ifadah before shaving.' He said: 'Shave or shorten, and no blame.' He said: Then he came to Zamzam and said: 'O sons of Abd al-Muttalib, your water-drawing! Were it not that the people would overpower you over it, I would draw water myself.'
