✧ ʿAsqalān is one of the two brides. From it will be raised on the Day of Resurrection seventy thousand upon whom there is no reckoning, and from it will be raised fifty thousand martyrs as delegations to God. In it are rows of martyrs, their heads severed in their hands, their jugular veins gushing blood. They say: Our Lord, give us what You promised us through Your messengers, for You do not break the promise. Then He says: My servants have spoken the truth. Wash them in the River of al-Bayḍāʾ. They emerge from it pure and white, and they roam in Paradise wherever they wish.
