حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ أَخُو حَزْمِ بْنِ أَبِي حَزْمٍ الْقُطَعِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللهُ} {هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ} [المدثر 56] فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ رَبُّكُمْ أَنَا أَهْلٌ أَنْ أُتَّقَى أَنْ يُجْعَلَ مَعِي إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَمَنْ اتَّقَى أَنْ يَجْعَلَ مَعِي إِلَهًا آخَرَ فَهُوَ أَهْلٌ لِأَنْ أَغْفِرَ لَهُ
Translation

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ recite this verse: {And you do not will except that God wills} {He is worthy of reverence and worthy of forgiveness} [al-Muddaththir 56]. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Your Lord says: I am worthy of being reverenced such that no other god is made with Me, and whoever reverences Me by not making another god with Me, then he is worthy for Me to forgive him.
