حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

لَمَّا قَدِمَ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالُوا: ابْعَثْ مَعَنَا رَجُلًا يُعَلِّمُنَا كِتَابَ رَبِّنَا وَالسُّنَّةَ. قَالَ: فَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِيَدِ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَقَالَ: هَذَا أَمِينُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ

Translation

✧ When the people of Yemen came to the Prophet ﷺ, they said: “Send with us a man to teach us the Book of our Lord and the Sunnah.” He said: The Prophet ﷺ took the hand of Abu Ubaydah and entrusted him to them, saying: “This is the trustworthy one of this ummah.”
