حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ
قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَذَلِكَ فِي السَّحَرِ: يَا أَنَسُ، إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ فَأَطْعِمْنِي شَيْئًا. قَالَ: فَجِئْتُهُ بِتَمْرٍ وَإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ بَعْدَمَا أَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَنَسُ، انْظُرْ إِنْسَانًا يَأْكُلُ مَعِي. قَالَ: فَدَعَوْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي شَرِبْتُ شَرْبَةَ سَوِيقٍ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ فَتَسَحَّرَ مَعَهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ
Translation

"The Messenger of Allah said, at the time of Sahur. 'O Anas, I want to fast, so give me something to eat.' So I brought him some dates and a vessel of water. That was after the Adhan of Bilal. He said: 'O Anas, find a man to come and eat with me.' So I called Zaid bin Thabit, who came and said: "I drank some Sawiq and I want to fast.' The Messenger of Allah said: "I also want to fast.' So he ate Sahr with him, then he got up and prayed two Rak'ahs, then he went out to the prayer." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2167)
