✧ The Prophet ﷺ consulted the people about his going out to Badr. Abu Bakr advised him, then he consulted 'Umar, and 'Umar advised him. Then he consulted them all, and one of the Ansar said: He means you, O assembly of Ansar, the Prophet of God ﷺ. Then a speaker of the Ansar said: Do you consult us, O Prophet of God? We will not say to you what the Children of Israel said to Moses ﷺ: 'Go, you and your Lord, and fight. We are sitting here.' But by the One who sent you with the truth, if you were to strike the livers of the camels to Bark — Ibn Abi 'Adi said: to Bark al-Ghimad — we would follow you.
