حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ يَعْنِي الْمِسْمَعِيَّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ، وَلِأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ يَوْمَانِ يَلْعَبُونَ فِيهِمَا، فَقَالَ: قَدِمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَكُمْ يَوْمَانِ تَلْعَبُونَ فِيهِمَا، وَإِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ أَبْدَلَكُمْ يَوْمَيْنِ خَيْرًا مِنْهُمَا: يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ النَّحْرِ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ came to Madinah, and the people of Madinah had two days in which they played. He said: "I came to you and you have two days in which you play, and God has replaced for you two days better than them: the day of breaking the fast and the day of sacrifice."
