✧ Al-Rubayyi', the paternal aunt of Anas, broke the front tooth of a girl. They asked the people for pardon, but they refused. They came to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: 'Retaliation.' Anas b. al-Nadr said: 'O Messenger of God, will the front tooth of so-and-so be broken?' The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'O Anas, the Book of God prescribes retaliation.' He said: 'No, by the One who sent you with the truth, the front tooth of so-and-so will not be broken.' He said: 'The people were satisfied, and they pardoned and abandoned retaliation.' The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Among the servants of God are those who, if they swear by God, He fulfills it.'
