حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ
كَانَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَنَادَى رَجُلٌ رَجُلًا: يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ، فَالْتَفَتَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ: لَمْ أَعْنِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّمَا عَنَيْتُ فُلَانًا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي، وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي
Translation

✧ The Prophet of Allah, may ﷺ, was in Baki' when a man called out to another man, "O Abu Al-Qasim!" The Prophet, may ﷺ, turned and said to the man, "Did you call me, O Messenger of Allah?" The man replied, "No, I meant someone else." The Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ, said, "Take my name and do not call me by my Kunyah (Abu Al-Qasim)." This narration was reported by Abdullah Ibn Bakr. Take my name.
