حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ

كَانَ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْهَرَمِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَالْجُبْنِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، وَقَدْ ذَكَرَ فِيهِ: الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتَ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Yaḥyá
  2. al-Taymī
  3. Anas
  4. al-Nabī ﷺ

✧ He used to say: 'O God, I seek refuge in You from inability and laziness, from senility and miserliness, from cowardice, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave.' He also mentioned life and death in it.
