Translation

✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ set out to Badr, he went out and consulted the people. Abu Bakr gave him counsel, then he consulted them again, and 'Umar gave him counsel, and he was silent. Then a man from the Ansar said: He only means you. They said: O Messenger of God, by God, we will not be as the Children of Israel said to Musa ﷺ: "Go, you and your Lord, and fight; we are sitting here." Rather, by God, if you were to strike the livers of the camels until you reached Bark al-Ghimad, we would be with you.
