machine translationNo one mentioned "grain" (ḥabb) in this hadith except Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah, who is trustworthy (thiqah), a Qurashī from the descendants of Saʿīd b. al-ʿĀṣī. He said: And this sunnah was not narrated from the Prophet ﷺ by any of his Companions other than Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī.
in مسند أحمد, p. 12055 - Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr
machine translationNo one said "grain" (ḥabb) in this hadith except Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah, from Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā b. Ḥabbān, from Yaḥyā b. ʿUmārah, from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī. It has been said that this hadith does not come from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī by any route free of criticism and defect, except through the hadith of Yaḥyā b. ʿUmārah from him, by the narration of his son ʿAmr b. Yaḥyā from him, and by the narration of Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā b. Ḥabbān from him. It has also been narrated through the hadith of Ibn Abī Ṣaʿṣaʿah from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, and the defect in it with this chain has already been mentioned.
