حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ

إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَأْتِي أَحَدَكُمْ وَهُوَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَيَأْخُذُ شَعَرَةً مِنْ دُبُرِهِ فَيَمُدُّهَا، فَيَرَى أَنَّهُ قَدْ أَحْدَثَ فَلَا يَنْصَرِفَنَّ حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ صَوْتًا أَوْ يَجِدَ رِيحًا

Translation

✧ "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Verily, Satan comes to one of you while he is in prayer and takes a strand of hair from the back of his head and extends it, making him think that he has changed. He does not leave until he hears a sound or finds a scent."
