حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ
لَا يَحْقِرَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ نَفْسَهُ إِذَا رَأَى أَمْرًا لِلهِ عَلَيْهِ فِيهِ مَقَالًا فَلَا يَقُولُ بِهِ، فَيَلْقَى اللهَ وَقَدْ أَضَاعَ ذَلِكَ فَيَقُولُ: مَا مَنَعَكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ: خَشِيتُ النَّاسَ، فَيَقُولُ: أَنَا كُنْتُ أَحَقَّ أَنْ تَخْشَى

✧ Let none of you belittle himself when he sees a matter concerning Allah in which he ought to speak, but he does not speak about it, and then he meets Allah having neglected that. He (Allah) will say: What prevented you? He will say: I feared the people. He will say: I was more worthy of your fear.
