حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
حُبِسْنَا يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ، حَتَّى ذَهَبَ هَوِيٌّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، حَتَّى كُفِينَا، وَذَلِكَ قَوْلُ اللهِ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ] وَكَفَى اللهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الْقِتَالَ وَكَانَ اللهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيزًا، قَالَ: فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِلَالًا فَأَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ، فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ، وَأَحْسَنَ كَمَا كَانَ يُصَلِّيهَا فِي وَقْتِهَا، ثُمَّ أَقَامَ لِلْعَصْرِ، فَصَلَّاهَا كَذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ أَقَامَ الْمَغْرِبَ فَصَلَّاهَا كَذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ أَقَامَ الْعِشَاءَ، فَصَلَّاهَا كَذَلِكَ، وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْخَوْفِ

✧ We were detained on the day of the Trench, until a part of the night had passed, until we were relieved. That is the saying of Allah [Mighty and Majestic]: 'And Allah sufficed the believers in fighting, and Allah is Strong, Mighty.' He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called Bilal and commanded him, so he called the iqamah, and he prayed Dhuhr, and he performed it well as he used to pray it at its time. Then he called the iqamah for Asr, and he prayed it likewise. Then he called the iqamah for Maghrib, and he prayed it likewise. Then he called the iqamah for Isha, and he prayed it likewise. That was before the revelation concerning the prayer of fear.
