حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ الْخَيَّاطُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ الْأَحْوَلُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ يُقَالُ لَهُ فُلَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ أَوْ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ فُلَانٍعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ
الْمَيِّتُ يَعْرِفُ مَنْ يُغَسِّلُهُ وَيَحْمِلُهُ وَيُدَلِّيهِ، قَالَ: فَقُمْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ إِلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ، فَمَرَّ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ: مِمَّنْ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ: مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

✧ The deceased recognizes who washes him, carries him, and lowers him [into the grave]. He said: Then I got up from Abu Sa'id's presence and went to Ibn 'Umar and told him. Abu Sa'id then passed by, and he said to him: From whom did you hear this hadith? He said: From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
