✧ He came to Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī during the nights of al-Ḥarrah and consulted him about leaving Madinah, complaining to him of its prices and the large number of his dependents, and told him that he had no endurance for the hardship of Madinah. He said to him, “Woe to you, I do not command you to do that. Indeed, I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say, ‘No one endures the hardship and distress of Madinah and dies but that I will be an intercessor or a witness for him on the Day of Resurrection, if he is a Muslim.’”
