حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عِيَاضٌ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَخْرُجُ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ، قَالَ يَحْيَى: لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا قَالَ: الْفِطْرِ وَالْأَضْحَى، فَيُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، فَيَقُومُ قَائِمًا فَيَسْتَقْبِلُ النَّاسَ بِوَجْهِهِ، وَيَقُولُ: تَصَدَّقُوا. فَكَانَ أَكْثَرَ مَنْ يَتَصَدَّقُ النِّسَاءُ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ: بِالْخَاتَمِ وَالْقُرْطِ وَالشَّيْءِ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ، فَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ حَاجَةٌ أَوْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَضَعَ بَعْثًا تَكَلَّمَ وَإِلَّا انْصَرَفَ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ used to go out on the day of Eid—Yahya said: I only know that he said: al-Fitr and al-Adha—and pray two rak'ahs with the people. Then he would stand and face the people and say: 'Give charity.' The ones who gave the most charity were the women. Abdul Razzaq said: 'with a ring, an earring, and the like,' and he mentioned its meaning. If he had a need or wanted to send out an expedition, he spoke; otherwise, he left.
