✧ On the day of the Trench we were kept from prayer until after sunset, into a part of the night, until we were relieved. That is the word of God Most High: “God sufficed the believers in battle, and God is strong and mighty.” He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ called Bilal and he gave the iqama for the noon prayer, and he prayed it and performed it well, as he used to pray it at its time. Then he ordered him and he gave the iqama for the afternoon prayer, and he prayed it and performed it well, as he used to pray it at its time. Then he ordered him and he gave the iqama for the sunset prayer, and he prayed it likewise. He said: That was before God sent down the prayer of fear, “whether on foot or mounted.”
