حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُسْتَمِرُّ بْنُ الرَّيَّانِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ

كَانَ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ امْرَأَةٌ قَصِيرَةٌ، فَصَنَعَتْ رِجْلَيْنِ مِنْ خَشَبٍ، فَكَانَتْ تَسِيرُ بَيْنَ امْرَأَتَيْنِ قَصِيرَتَيْنِ، وَاتَّخَذَتْ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَحَشَتْ تَحْتَ فَصِّهِ أَطْيَبَ الطِّيبِ الْمِسْكَ، فَكَانَتْ إِذَا مَرَّتْ بِالْمَجْلِسِ حَرَّكَتْهُ فَنَفَحَ رِيحُهُ.

✧ Among the Children of Israel there was a short woman, and she made two legs of wood and used to walk between two short women. She acquired a ring of gold and filled beneath its bezel with the finest perfume, musk. When she passed by a gathering, she would move it and its fragrance would waft.
