✧ I give you glad tidings of the Mahdi. He will be sent among my community amid differences among the people and earthquakes, and he will fill the earth with fairness and justice just as it was filled with oppression and injustice. The dweller of heaven and the dweller of the earth will be pleased with him. He will distribute wealth in full measure. A man asked him: What does 'in full measure' mean? He said: Equally among the people. He said: And Allah will fill the hearts of the community of Muhammad ﷺ with sufficiency, and his justice will encompass them, until he orders a caller who calls out: Whoever has need of wealth? Then no one stands except one man, who says: I do. He says: Go to the treasurer—meaning the keeper—and say to him: The Mahdi commands you to give me wealth. He says to him: Scoop it up, until when he has put it in his lap and brought it out, he regrets it and says: I was the greediest of the community of Muhammad in soul, or am I unable to bear what sufficed them? He said: Then he returns it, but it is not accepted from him. It is said to him: We do not take back anything we have given. That continues for seven years, or eight years, or nine years. Then there is no good in life after that—or he said: Then there is no good in living after that.
