حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُخَيْمِرَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ، فَقَالَتْ: سَلْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ عَلِيًّا، فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَغْزُو مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ: لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ، وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ،

Translation

✧ He asked Aisha about wiping over the leather socks. She said: "Ask Ali about that, for he used to go on expeditions with the Messenger of God ﷺ." So he asked him and he said: "For the traveler three days and their nights, and for the resident one day and one night."
