حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَسُرَيْجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَعْمَرٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو طُوَالَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ

أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ النَّاسِ مَنْزِلَةً ؟ رَجُلٌ آخِذٌ بِعِنَانِ فَرَسِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ النَّاسِ مَنْزِلَةً بَعْدَهُ ؟ رَجُلٌ مُعْتَزِلٌ فِي غَنَمٍ أَوْ غُنَيْمَةٍ يُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ، وَيُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ، وَيَعْبُدُ اللهَ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا.

✧ Shall I not tell you of the best of people in rank? A man holding the rein of his horse in the path of Allah. Shall I not tell you of the best of people in rank after him? A man secluded with sheep or a small flock, who establishes the prayer, gives the zakat, and worships Allah, not associating anything with Him.
