✧ Shihab b. Mudlij settled in the desert, and his son insulted a man, saying, "O son of the one who became a bedouin after the Hijrah!" So Shihab came to Madinah and met Abu Hurayrah, whom he heard saying: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "The best of people are two: a man who strives in the way of God until he descends upon a place that harms the enemy, and a man in a corner of the desert who establishes the five prayers, pays the due of his wealth, and worships his Lord until certainty comes to him." He knelt down and said, "Did you hear this from the Messenger of God ﷺ, O Abu Hurayrah, saying it?" He replied, "Yes." So he went back to his desert and remained there.
