✧ That a Bedouin came striking his face and pulling out his hair, saying: I think I am doomed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: What has doomed you? He said: I had intercourse with my wife during Ramadan. He said: Can you free a slave? He said: No. He said: Can you fast two consecutive months? He said: No. He said: Can you feed sixty poor persons? He said: No, and he mentioned his need. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a basket—it is the mikta l—containing fifteen sa’s, I think of dates. The Prophet ﷺ said: Where is the man? He said: Feed this. He said: O Messenger of Allah, there is no one between its two lava fields more in need than us, the people of my household. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed until his canine teeth appeared, then said: Feed your family.
