حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ
أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَسْتَشْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالْأُذُنَ، وَلَا نُضَحِّيَ بِشَرْقَاءَ، وَلَا خَرْقَاءَ، وَلَا مُقَابَلَةٍ، وَلَا مُدَابَرَةٍ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to examine the eye and the ear, and not to sacrifice an animal with a slit ear (sharqa'), nor one with a pierced or torn ear (kharqa'), nor one with the front part of its ear cut off (muqabalah), nor one with the back part of its ear cut off (mudabarah).
