When a man strikes his brother's thigh and does not intend anything bad by it

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا كَانَ جُنُبًا يَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلاَثَ حَفَنَاتٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ إِنَّ شَعْرِي أَكْثَرُ مِنْ ذَاكَ قَالَ وَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فَخِذِ الْحَسَنِ فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي كَانَ شَعْرُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ شَعْرِكَ وَأَطْيَبَ

Translation

✧ From Jābir who said: When the Prophet ﷺ was in a state of major ritual impurity, he would pour three handfuls of water over his head. Al-Ḥasan b. Muḥammad said, "Abū ʿAbdullāh, my hair is thicker than that." He said, and he struck al-Ḥasan's thigh with his hand, "O son of my brother, the Prophet's ﷺ hair was thicker than your hair and more fragrant."
