Translation

✧ From Ibn ʿAbbās, who said: Two men reviled each other in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. One of them insulted the other while the other remained silent, with the Prophet ﷺ sitting. Then the other responded, so the Prophet ﷺ stood up. It was said: "You stood up?" He said: "The angels stood up, so I stood up with them. As long as this one was silent, the angels responded on his behalf to the one who insulted him; but when he responded, the angels stood up."
