Obedience to parents unless its for a sinful act

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: جِئْتُ أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ، وَتَرَكْتُ أَبَوَيَّ يَبْكِيَانِ. قَالَ: «ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمَا فَأَضْحِكْهُمَا كَمَا أَبْكَيْتَهُمَا».

Translation

  5. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: I have come to pledge allegiance to you for emigration, but I left my parents weeping. He said: "Go back to them and make them laugh just as you made them weep."
