Mercy consists of a hundred parts

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الرَّحْمَةَ مِئَةَ جُزْءٍ فَأَمْسَكَ عِنْدَهُ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ وَأَنْزَلَ فِي الأَرْضِ جُزْءًا وَاحِدًا فَمِنْ ذَلِكَ الْجُزْءِ يَتَرَاحَمُ الْخَلْقُ حَتَّى تَرْفَعَ الْفَرَسُ حَافِرَهَا عَنْ وَلَدِهَا خَشْيَةَ أَنْ تُصِيبَهُ
Translation
✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: God, Mighty and Majestic, made mercy into one hundred parts. He withheld ninety-nine parts with Him and sent down one part to the earth. From that one part, creatures show mercy to one another, so much so that the mare lifts her hoof from her foal for fear of striking it.
