حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ: قَالَ سَعْدٌ:
إِنِّي لَأَوَّلُ رَجُلٍ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي الْمُشْرِكِينَ، وَمَا جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَبَوَيْهِ لِأَحَدٍ قَبْلِي، وَلَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: ارْمِ يَا سَعْدُ، فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي

✧ Indeed I am the first man to shoot an arrow at the idolaters, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never combined his parents for anyone before me. I heard him say: 'Shoot, O Sa'd, may my father and mother be your ransom.'
